Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, or LECOM for short, is built in Elmira, New York as an addition to offer larger classes, more course offerings, and additional degree options in conjunction with Elmira College. This addition to the college adds great value for students and offers more student life in the college town of Elmira.

This project contained some challenges. The 184 pieces in this project all had a special acid etch lacquer that had to be applied to the mold prior to pouring the concrete. This essentially ate away at the concrete as it dried in our plant. The weather plays a major role in how this process works; between hot and humid, cool and rain, it all affects the way this process works. In our state of the art plant with temperature control we were able to successfully manage this project to produce a quality building.
